CRMC OPENS ITS 4TH COVID-19 FACILITY
The Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) opened on October 20, 2020 it's 4th COVID-19 Isolation Facility which is the hospital’s proactive response to a possible influx of COVID-19-related cases. To realize this, the Pediatrics and Medicine wards are repurposed to become a COVID-19 Extension Ward and it will be designated for COVID-19 positive patients who are moderate with co-morbidity, severe and critical cases.
Under the Department of Health “One Hospital Command System”, the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center is identified as the COVID-19 referral hospital of Region XII. To serve the higher number of the expected COVID-19 patients, CRMC has to repurpose some of its existing facilities. The facility has a total of 48 beds with 5 ICUs (26 beds). The facility is the 4th COVID-19 facility of the hospital following the repurposing of TB Isolation and Mental Health Unit as COVID-19 wards and the putting up of a big COVID-19 tent at the basketball court donated by the World Food Program.
Special guests who initiated the cutting of ribbon were DOH Regional Director Aristides Concepcion Tan, DOH Assistant Regional Director Sulpicio Henry Legaspi, Jr., Cotabato City Administrator Dr. Danda N. Juanday and CRMC Medical Center Chief Dr. Helen P. Yambao. In their messages, both Dr. Yambao and Dir. Tan wished and hoped that all patients to be admitted to this facility may get well and with less mortalities. While the City Administrator, Dr. Juanday, congratulated the management and staffs of the hospital and recognized the efforts for the establishment of this facility. He also, emphasized that Cotabato City will soon be more open to the public hence, strict minimum health standards must be observed.
After the cutting of ribbon, blessings and prayers were offered in both Christian and Islam by Father Rev. Fr. Hilario Asilo and Ustadz Abdulwahid Mampao, respectively. The activity ended with a media interview and a simple snacks.
