National Women's Month

Women’s Month is the celebration of women’s contribution to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March since 1987 in the United States.
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 224 s. 1998, the first week of March of every year was declared as Women’s Week and March 8 as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day.
Proclamation No. 227 s. 1998 provided for the observance of the month of March as “Women’s Role in history month; whereas the House of Representatives has designated under Resolution No. 20 the month of March, 1998 and every month of March thereafter as “Women’s role in History Month and Republic act No. 6949 s. 1990 declaring March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day, the Philippine Commission on Women leading the observance of National Women’s Month.
Cotabato Regional and Medical Center joined in the celebration of National Women’s Month and this year’s theme was “We Make Change Work For Women” aimed to highlight the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claimholders of development.
Lay forum was conducted at Under-five clinic of Outpatient Department on March 9, 2020
and it was participated by 60 females and 12 males. They were given information about family planning and cervical cancer prevention by Dr. Espinosa. Doing such activity raises awareness among women and men and gives importance on their health.
