Cotabato City - After six months of patiently waiting, the Cotabato Regional and Medical (CRMC) has formally installed Dr. Ishmael R. Dimaren as its new Medical Center Chief.
During the Welcome Program and Installation Ceremony held on August 19, 2021 at the Cafeteria of the Phase I Building of CRMC, officials from CHD-XII, MOH-BARMM, and the City Government, the Top Management of CRMC, heads of the various departments, units, and sections of the hospital, members of the media, and the family of Dr. Dimaren witnessed the momentous event that signals a new era of leadership in CRMC. He shall lead a strong workforce of more than 1,700 personnel and shall steer CRMC towards its vision of becoming a multi-specialty center for research and health.
The installation comes after Department Personnel Order No. 2021-1749 was signed by DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III officially appointing Dr. Dimaren as the Medical Center Chief II and assigning him at CRMC.
Prior to the ceremony, he already took his Oath of Office via Zoom on August 09, 2021.
CRMC’s new Medical Center Chief II is a graduate of BS Biology and Doctor of Medicine at the prestigious Far Eastern University in 1994 and 1998, respectively. In October 1999, he had his first stint as a public servant at South Upi Municipal Hospital serving as Medical Officer III. Just over a year, he decided to transfer to CRMC and worked as a Medical Officer III. For the next six years, he devoted his time to provide genuine and quality service to many and honed his talent to contribute further to the healing, treatment, and recovery of his patients. Being passionately driven to better serve those who are in need, he went on to take his specialty training at the Philippine General Hospital in 2007.
His specialty training paid off when he was awarded the Golden Scalpel Award for his remarkable performance, a feat that only a few have achieved. Then, he went back to serve as the Provincial Health Officer II of the Shariff Kabunsuan Province. In 2012, he had become part of the DOH Medical Pool serving as a Medical Specialist II. But Dr. Dimaren is always drawn towards CRMC because he is destined to play an important role later. Hence, in 2013, he was hired back to CRMC, this time, serving as a Medical Specialist II. From that point on, he has been preparing himself to take on the challenge to lead CRMC and bring the institution towards the fulfillment of its vision.
In his pre-recorded video message presented during the installation ceremony, Undersecretary for Field Implementation and Coordination Team for Visayas and Mindanao Dr. Abdullah B. Dumama, Jr. expressed his elation to the appointment of Dr. Dimaren pointing out that the appointment was decided so that Dr. Dimaren can “devote his abilities and talents to serve the people of Cotabato.”. He further stressed that becoming CRMC’s head has endowed Dr. Dimaren the “responsibility and corresponding accountability to lead this premier institution, manage the hospital systems effectively and efficiently, and inspire all the personnel to serve the people competently and compassionately.”.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Dimaren thanked everyone who have supported him. As he assumed his role as the head of CRMC, he shared that his leadership shall be guided by the tagline CRMC F.I.R.S.T. –Friendly, Integrity, Reform, Sustainable Quality Services, and Team Work. These values and principles are pivotal in effecting impactful changes in the hospital especially so that the pandemic demands a greater responsibility of ensuring that services are unhampered and the needs of employees and patients are met.
As CRMC stands at a time where it faces unprecedented crises that challenge not only its ability to remain resilient but also its commitment to promote excellence in healthcare service delivery and to advance the interests of its patients and employees, Dr. Dimaren taking the helm brings a ray of hope that he will help CRMC emerge as an even better healthcare institution. He is a talented public servant who brings years of experience in healthcare service to his new post.
Dr. Dimaren’s appointment marks a new period in CRMC’s history. And the entire CRMC community is confident that he will usher the hospital to a period of greater successes and will institute the needed reforms. He is a leader whose unique character evokes optimism and hope and who will provide real and genuine solutions to the many challenges that CRMC and its stakeholders collectively face.
From this moment forward, CRMC looks into the future with utmost optimism and vigor hoping that under Dr. Dimaren’s leadership, it will continue to reach greater heights and shall become one of the best healthcare institutions in the Philippines.
