CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM
February 14, 2020
The Heart month is observed every month of February in the Philippines as pursuant to Proclamation No. 1096 signed in 1973.
According to the 2016 Philippine Health Statistics, one in every four deaths was caused by diseases of the heart, making it the number one leading cause of death.
This year’s theme is “Pusong Inaalagaan, Sakit Maiiwasan, Mag healthy Lifestyle! #SelfLove” aims to prevent cardiovascular diseases through caring of your heart and promoting healthy lifestyle. In compliance to this the Department of Health enjoins local government units, academe, government and non-government organizations, professional associations, and allied groups to celebrate the said observance.
